HGV Class 1 Driver

Overview
We are seeking a professional HGV Class 1 Driver to join our busy logistics team. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in commercial driving, and demonstrate a strong commitment to safety and punctuality. This role involves delivering goods efficiently and securely across various locations, ensuring high standards of service and compliance with road regulations.

Responsibilities

• Operate HGV Class 1 lorries, in accordance with legal and company standards
• Safely load, secure, and unload cargo, ensuring all items are transported without damage
• Plan routes effectively to meet delivery schedules and optimise fuel efficiency
• Conduct pre-journey safety inspections of the vehicle and report any issues promptly
• Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, and vehicle maintenance reports
• Adhere to all road safety laws and company policies during every journey
• Assist with loading and unloading when necessary, ensuring proper handling of goods
• Communicate professionally with clients and team members regarding delivery schedules or any unforeseen delays

Qualifications

• Valid HGV Class 1 licence with a clean driving record
• Proven experience as a commercial driver, preferably with delivery driver experience
• Strong understanding of road safety regulations and best practices in commercial driving
• Ability to operate lorries safely and efficiently
• Excellent organisational skills to manage routes and schedules effectively
• Good communication skills for liaising with clients and team members
• Physically fit to handle loading/unloading tasks when required
• Tramping and day positions available
