HGV Class 1 Driver

Job Overview
We are seeking a professional and reliable HGV class 1 LOW LOADER driver to join our machine moving team. The successful candidate will be responsible for transporting equipment efficiently and safely across designated routes as well as loading unloading factory machinery. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a passion for driving and working with machinery.
Duties

• Operate HGV class 1 Low Loader lorries and other commercial vehicles to transport goods between locations
• Follow movement orders
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety standards are met
• Be able to chain, strap and sheet loads, and be a slinger banksman (training can be provided)
• Comply with all traffic laws, health and safety regulations, and company policies
• Assist with loading and unloading machinery
• Mechanical experience would be an advantage but not essential as training will be given

Skills

• Proven experience in driving commercial vehicles, particularly Low loader lorries essential
• Forklift licence would be an advantage but not essential as training will be given
• Good physical fitness for handling loads as you will be required to jack and skate machinery (training provided)
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently under minimal supervision and also work as part of a team
• Ability to operate a variety of vehicle types with confidence and professionalism

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: £16.50-£17.50 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 40.0 per week
