HGV Class 1 Driver

Job Overview

We are currently seeking a professional and dependable HGV Class 1 Driver to join our client’s logistics operation. This role involves undertaking trunking routes across the UK, with a primary focus on Heathrow and Manchester Airport, while supporting airline cargo transfer operations. The successful candidate will ensure the safe, timely, and compliant transportation of goods in line with industry and regulatory standards. This is a permanent, full-time position (Monday to Friday) offering a salary of up to £40,000.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate HGV Class 1 (C+E) vehicles safely and efficiently for nationwide deliveries and collections
• Complete scheduled trunking routes to Heathrow, Manchester, and surrounding locations
• Load, unload, and secure cargo in accordance with safety procedures
• Conduct thorough vehicle inspections before and after each shift
• Ensure full compliance with UK road transport legislation, tachograph regulations, and working time directives
• Maintain accurate delivery documentation and report any operational issues promptly
• Provide support for airport and airline cargo handling operations as required

Qualifications & Experience

• Valid HGV Class 1 (C+E) licence
• Valid Driver CPC (DQC) and Digital Tachograph card
• Minimum of 2 years’ HGV driving experience
• CO (Cargo Operative) training with proven experience in airport or airline deliveries
• Aged 25 or above (insurance requirement)
• Strong knowledge of UK road networks and transport regulations
• Physically capable of undertaking manual handling duties
• Clean driving record (no driving bans within the last 5 years, no drink/drug-related offences within the last 10 years, and no IN, CD, DD, DR, BA licence codes)
