Job Summary
We are seeking a professional and reliable Truck Driver to join our logistics team. The successful candidate will be responsible for safely transporting goods to various destinations, ensuring timely deliveries while maintaining high standards of safety and customer service. Experience with Coil Carriers, Steel Haulage and commercial driving is highly desirable, and applicants must hold a valid driving licence suitable for operating large vehicles. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about driving and logistics to develop their careers within a reputable organisation. We are taking on New Drivers but we will want you to go shunting for experience.

Duties

  • Safely operate Steel lorries and other commercial vehicles to deliver goods across designated routes
  • Ensure all cargo is correctly secured and complies with safety regulations before transit
  • Conduct routine vehicle inspections and report any maintenance issues promptly
  • Plan efficient routes to meet delivery schedules and optimise fuel consumption
  • Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, and fuel usage in accordance with company policies
  • Communicate effectively with dispatchers, clients, and team members regarding delivery status or delays
  • Adhere strictly to road safety laws and company policies during all driving activities
  • Assist with loading and unloading goods when necessary, ensuring proper handling of items

Qualifications

  • Valid driving licence suitable for operating large commercial vehicles, including flatbed lorries
  • Proven experience as a delivery driver or commercial driver, preferably with flatbed experience
  • Strong knowledge of road safety regulations and traffic laws within the UK
  • Excellent driving skills with a clean driving record
  • Ability to navigate using GPS systems and plan efficient delivery routes
  • Good organisational skills and attention to detail for maintaining accurate records
  • Physical fitness to handle loading/unloading tasks when required
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team
