HGV Class 1 Driver

Job Overview
We are seeking a professional and reliable Class 1 Driver to join our logistics team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of goods across various routes, ensuring timely deliveries and maintaining high standards of safety and customer service. This role offers an excellent opportunity for experienced drivers to utilise their skills in a dynamic environment, contributing to the smooth operation of our supply chain.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate articulated lorries and other commercial vehicles to transport goods to designated locations.
• Plan routes efficiently to meet delivery schedules while adhering to legal driving hours and safety regulations.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, ensuring it is in optimal condition before and after journeys.
• Secure cargo properly to prevent damage during transit, following all safety protocols.
• Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, fuel consumption, and vehicle maintenance needs.
• Communicate effectively with dispatchers, clients, and team members regarding delivery schedules or any issues encountered on the road.
• Adhere strictly to traffic laws, company policies, and health and safety regulations at all times.

Skills

• Proven experience in driving commercial vehicles, flatbeds and curtain sider vehicles.
• Strong knowledge of driving regulations and safety standards within the UK.
• Delivery driver experience is highly desirable, with a focus on punctuality and customer service.
• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to plan routes efficiently.
• Good communication skills for liaising with clients and team members professionally.
• Ability to handle physically demanding tasks such as securing cargo and performing vehicle inspections.
• A valid UK driving licence suitable for commercial vehicle operation, with no serious endorsements or restrictions. This role is ideal for dedicated drivers committed to maintaining high safety standards whilst delivering exceptional service across our operations.

Pay: From £15.80 per hour
