HGV Class 1 Driver

Job Overview
We are seeking a professional HGV Class 1 Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for safely operating heavy goods vehicles, primarily flatbed lorries, to deliver goods efficiently and on time. This role offers an excellent opportunity for experienced drivers with a strong focus on safety, reliability, and customer service. Candidates must hold a valid HGV Class 1 licence and have relevant commercial driving experience.

Duties

• Safely operate HGV Class 1 vehicles, including flatbed lorries, in compliance with all road safety and transport regulations
• Plan and follow efficient delivery routes to ensure timely deliveries
• Secure loads properly on flatbeds to prevent movement during transit
• Conduct pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections to identify any maintenance or safety issues
• Complete all necessary paperwork accurately, including delivery notes and vehicle logs
• Assist with loading and unloading goods when required, ensuring proper handling procedures are followed
• Maintain a professional attitude when interacting with clients and colleagues during deliveries
• Adhere to all health and safety policies to ensure a safe working environment at all times

Skills

• Proven experience in commercial driving, particularly with flatbed lorries or similar vehicles
• Strong knowledge of road safety regulations and best practices for heavy goods vehicle operation
• Excellent driving skills with a clean driving record
• Ability to handle physical tasks associated with securing loads on flatbeds
• Good organisational skills to plan routes effectively and manage delivery schedules
• Reliable, punctual, and professional attitude with excellent communication skills
• Ability to work independently and responsibly under minimal supervision
