HGV Class 1 Driver

Job Overview
We are seeking a professional HGV Class 1 Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of goods across various routes, ensuring timely deliveries and maintaining high standards of safety and customer service. The position is paid and involves operating flatbed lorries, requiring a valid HGV Class 1 licence.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate flatbed HGV lorries to transport goods to designated locations.
• Ensure all deliveries are completed within scheduled timeframes while adhering to road safety regulations.
• Conduct pre- and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, reporting any faults or issues promptly.
• Load and unload cargo with care, ensuring items are secured properly during transit.
• Maintain accurate documentation related to deliveries, including delivery notes and mileage records.
• Follow all company policies and legal requirements concerning driving hours, tachograph regulations, and health & safety standards.
• Communicate effectively with dispatch teams regarding delivery schedules or any unforeseen delays.
• Uphold a professional appearance and attitude when representing the company to clients and customers.

Experience

• Proven experience in commercial driving, particularly with flatbed lorries or similar vehicles.
• Delivery driver experience is highly desirable, demonstrating familiarity with route planning and customer service.
• Valid HGV Class 1 licence is essential, with a clean driving record preferred.
• Knowledge of road safety regulations and compliance requirements for large vehicle operation.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: £15.62-£16.22 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 60 per week
