HGV Class 1 Driver

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Class 1 HGV Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in commercial driving, particularly with curtain siders and fridge unit vehicles, and will be responsible for ensuring safe and timely delivery of goods. This role requires a strong commitment to safety, excellent driving skills, and the ability to navigate various routes efficiently. Overtime rate paid and Sunday bonus.

Duties

• Operate fridge unit and curtain sider lorries to transport goods to designated locations.
• Ensure the safe loading and unloading of cargo, adhering to all safety protocols.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition.
• Maintain accurate delivery logs and records of vehicle maintenance.
• Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers regarding delivery schedules and any potential delays.
• Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations while driving.
• Assist with the securing of loads using appropriate equipment and techniques.

Qualifications

• Valid commercial driving licence (C+E) with a clean driving record.
• Experience as a delivery driver, particularly with refrigerated vehicles, is preferred.
• Strong understanding of road safety regulations and best practices for transporting goods.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
• Good communication skills for interaction with clients and team members.
• Physical stamina to handle loading and unloading tasks as required.
