HGV Class 1 Driver

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Truck Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting goods safely and efficiently, ensuring timely deliveries while adhering to all traffic laws and regulations. This role requires a strong commitment to safety and professionalism, along with the ability to handle various types of vehicles.

Duties

• Conduct pre-trip inspections to ensure the vehicle is in safe operating condition.
• Load and unload cargo, ensuring proper securing of loads to prevent damage during transit.
• Maintain accurate delivery logs and records of mileage, fuel consumption, and other necessary documentation.
• Adhere to all road safety regulations and company policies while driving.
• Communicate effectively with dispatchers and clients regarding delivery status and any potential issues.
• Perform routine maintenance checks on the vehicle and report any mechanical issues promptly.

Skills

• Proven experience in commercial driving.
• Must be able to operate walking floor trailer.
• Will be required to drive on landfill.
• Strong knowledge of delivery driver responsibilities and best practices.
• Excellent driving skills with a clean driving record.
• Ability to navigate using maps or GPS systems effectively.
• Strong organisational skills with attention to detail in maintaining logs and documentation.
• Good communication skills for interaction with clients and team members.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team when required.
