HGV Class 1 Driver

GRG Waste UK is made up of 4 companies BKP Waste & Recycling, Greenway Environmental, Novum Waste Recycling and Chloros Environmental that work in unison to offer a wide range of services.

Greenway are experts in the hazardous waste industry, handling a wide range of hazardous and non-hazardous waste streams, including corrosive liquids, paints and solvents, contaminated rags, oil sludge and filters, aerosols, oxidisers, WEEE and resins. Greenway operate a Total Waste Management division which offers a full-service solution from site visits and sampling to container supply and transportation. Greenway pride themselves in offering industry-leading response times for their services and turning waste into energy, through innovative and sustainable solutions.

We currently have a vacancy for a HGV Class 1 driver at Greenway Environmental’s Bootle site.

Responsibilities will include but will not be limited to:

  • Ensuring full compliance with all current regulations concerning the transportation of hazardous waste materials.
  • Delivery / Collection of waste materials to/from various locations around the UK.
  • Some manual work will be required and occasional yard work.
  • Hours of work will be as and when required in order to complete your duties in accordance with the legal requirements for an HGV driver with a minimum of 40 hours per week Monday to Friday.
  • A number of nights out per week may be required.
  • Full compliance with high standards of health and safety regulations including PPE at all times.
  • Complete all duties in a safe and responsible manner.
  • Ensuring the daily walkaround safety inspection is completed, the results recorded and any defects reported to the Site Manager.
  • Maintain a high standard of cleanliness in any vehicle used, taking care of all equipment given

40 hours per week + overtime evenings/weekends when available

20 days holiday + BH increasing by 1 day after 2 complete years service to a maximum of 25.

Must have Driver CPC

ADR licence preferred

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
