HGV Class 1 Driver

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Class 1 C+E Driver to join our team for ongoing work with our clients! The ideal candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient delivery of goods, ensuring that all loads are transported in compliance with regulations and company policies. This role requires a strong commitment to safety, punctuality, and customer service.

Working with curtain trailers, box trailers & flat bed trailers!

Duties

• Operate a lorry to transport goods to various locations, ensuring timely deliveries.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is roadworthy.
• Ensure truck and trailer are clean after every shift!
• Load and unload cargo, securing it properly to prevent damage during transit.

• Operate HGV Class 1 vehicles, including flatbed lorries, in compliance with all road safety regulations and company policy
• Deliver goods to various locations efficiently and on time, ensuring proper handling and securement of cargo
• Maintain accurate delivery documentation and communicate effectively with dispatch teams
• Adhere to all legal requirements related to commercial driving, including hours of service regulations
• Assist with loading and unloading goods as required, ensuring the correct handling of fragile or specialised items
• Follow health and safety procedures at all times to minimise risks during transit and loading activities
• Report any vehicle defects or incidents promptly to management for appropriate action

Qualifications

• Valid UK HGV Class 1 licence, CPC and driver card
• Min 6 months experience (could look into new pass drivers)
• Strong understanding of road safety regulations and best practices in logistics operations
• Experience with delivery driver roles is highly desirable
• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage time effectively during routes
• Good communication skills to liaise with clients and team members professionally
• Ability to work independently and responsibly in a fast-paced environment
