HGV Class 1 Driver

Overview
We are seeking a professional and reliable Truck Driver to join our logistics team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely transporting goods across various routes, ensuring timely deliveries, and maintaining the highest standards of safety and vehicle care. This role offers an excellent opportunity for experienced drivers with a focus on commercial driving and delivery services, particularly those familiar with flatbed operations.

Duties

• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with regulations
• Load and secure cargo appropriately, ensuring the safety of goods during transit
• Plan routes efficiently to optimise delivery times and fuel consumption
• Maintain accurate delivery documentation and logs in accordance with company policies
• Communicate effectively with dispatchers regarding schedules, delays, or issues during transit
• Adhere strictly to all traffic laws, safety protocols, and company policies during driving operations
• Assist with loading and unloading when required, ensuring proper handling of goods
• container exp would be an advantage but training could be given to the right person

Experience

• Proven experience as a commercial driver, preferably with delivery driver experience in a similar role
• Valid driving licence suitable for operating heavy goods vehicles (HGV) or equivalent certification
• Knowledge of current road regulations and safety standards within the UK transportation industry
• Demonstrated ability to navigate using GPS or other route planning tools effectively
• Experience in maintaining accurate logs and documentation related to driving activities

Pay: £13.27-£18.35 per hour
