HGV Class 1 Driver

Job Overview
We are seeking a professional HGV Class 1 Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of goods across various locations. This role offers an excellent opportunity for experienced drivers with a strong focus on safety, punctuality, and customer service. The position involves delivering goods UK wide so will involve nights out. Amount of nights out with vary week to week. Prior experience in commercial driving and delivery is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate HGV lorries in accordance with road safety regulations and company policies
• Deliver goods to designated locations efficiently and on time
• Ensure all cargo is secured correctly during transit to prevent damage or accidents
• Conduct pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections to maintain safety standards
• Complete all necessary documentation accurately, including delivery notes and walk around checks
• Communicate effectively with transport and customers regarding delivery times or issues
• Adhere to driving hours regulations and maintain compliance with legal requirements
• Maintain a professional attitude and represent the company positively during all interactions

Requirements

• Valid HGV Class 1 licence (C+E entitlement)
• Proven experience as a commercial driver
• Strong driving skills with a clean driving record
• Ability to handle physically demanding tasks associated with loading and unloading (if required)
• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
• Good communication skills and a professional manner
• Flexibility to work various shifts as needed, including early mornings or late evenings if required
