HGV Class 1 Driver

Job Overview
We are seeking a professional HGV Class 1 Driver to join our family firm . The successful candidate will be responsible for safely operating large goods vehicles to deliver goods efficiently across various locations. This role offers an excellent opportunity for experienced drivers to utilise their skills in a dynamic and supportive environment. • Safely operate HGV Class 1 lorries, in particular with bulkers and curtain side trailers , ensuring compliance with all road safety regulations
• Conduct pre-journey safety checks on the vehicle
• Plan and follow the most efficient routes for timely deliveries
• Load and unload goods with care, ensuring items are secured properly during transit
• Complete all necessary paperwork accurately, including delivery notes and logs
• Maintain a professional attitude when interacting with clients and colleagues
• Adhere to legal driving hours and rest periods in accordance with regulations

Skills

• Valid HGV Class 1 licence with a clean driving record
• Experience with bulk tipping is desirable
• Strong understanding of road safety laws and regulations within the UK
• Excellent organisational skills to manage routes efficiently
• Good communication skills
• Ability to work independently whilst maintaining high safety standards

This role is ideal for drivers with previous driving experience who are committed to safe, reliable transportation and have a good work ethic. There may be the very occasional night out but this is unusual, we always aim to get our drivers back home each night. May be occasional weekend work but this is split fairly across the rest of the team. Please get in touch for anymore details.
