HGV Class 1 Driver

Job Overview:

We are currently recruiting for experienced and reliable HGV Class 1 (C+E) Drivers to join our family run business based in Barnsley South Yorkshire. This role involves delivering goods safely and efficiently while maintaining excellent standards of customer service and road safety. We are looking for someone who can commit to having nights out as there will be the possibility to be away all week. Shift patterns will be Monday to Friday with start times varying to meet customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out nationwide or regional deliveries and collections
• Ensure all loads are secure and transported safely
• Complete daily walk around checks and report any defects
• Maintain accurate delivery paperwork and ensure all POD's are signed
• Adhere to all driving laws, tachograph regulations, and company policies
• Provide a professional and courteous service to customers
• Work well in a team

Requirements

• Valid HGV Class 1 (C+E) Licence
• Valid Driver CPC qualification
• Digital Tachograph Card
• Minimum 2 years Class 1 driving experience (preferred but not essential)
• Good knowledge of UK road networks and regulations
• Strong work ethic and reliability
• Clean driving licence also an advantage
• Availability to have nights out with potential to be away all week
• Good communication skills
