HGV Class 1 Driver

Overview
We are seeking a professional and reliable Truck Driver to join our logistics team. The successful candidate will be responsible for safely transporting goods to various destinations, ensuring timely deliveries, and maintaining excellent customer service. Experience with flatbed and commercial driving is highly desirable, along with a strong commitment to safety and efficiency. This role offers an opportunity to work within a dynamic environment, contributing to the smooth operation of our supply chain. Must be prepared to have 4 nights out a week and be able to work on own initiative.

Pay negotiable depending on experience

Responsibilities

• Deliver goods to clients and distribution centres in a timely manner
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure roadworthiness
• Secure loads properly on flatbeds, adhering to safety regulations
• Maintain accurate delivery documentation and logs
• Communicate effectively with dispatchers and clients regarding delivery schedules or issues
• Follow all traffic laws, safety protocols, and company policies during operations
• Assist with loading and unloading cargo when necessary

Qualifications

• Valid driving licence suitable for operating commercial vehicles (category C or equivalent)
• Current valid CPC
• Delivery driver experience is highly advantageous
• Good knowledge of road networks and navigation systems within the region
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage time efficiently
• Excellent safety record and commitment to safe driving practices
• Ability to work independently and handle physically demanding tasks
