HGV Driver (Shunter) – Warehouse

• Pay: £16.07 per hour

About the Role

We are currently seeking a reliable and safety-focused HGV Driver (Shunter) to join our Warehouse team. This is a key operational role responsible for the safe and efficient movement of trailers between sites, as well as supporting loading and unloading activities.

You will play an important part in ensuring smooth logistics operations within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out shunting operations between company sites and sometimes deliver finished products to the customers.
• Perform daily vehicle safety checks and report defects promptly
• Ensure all loads are secure, safe, and compliant
• Complete all required documentation, including shunt logs and tachograph records
• Support the warehouse team with loading and unloading vehicles
• Maintain cleanliness and basic upkeep of the vehicle cab
• Adhere to all health & safety, quality, and company procedures
• Assist with occasional collections from suppliers when required

What We’re Looking For

• Valid C+E (Class 1) driving licence
• Driver Qualification Card (DQC) – in date (minimum 2 months remaining)
• Digital Tachograph Card – in date (minimum 2 months remaining)
• Experience of driving a Heavy Goods Vehicle: 1 year (preferred) and experience with curtainside trailers, and load securing straps and ratchets;
• Good understanding of vehicle safety and compliance
• Strong time management and organisational skills
• Good communication skills and ability to work within a team
• A proactive and responsible approach to safety and operational standards
