HGV Class 1 Tramper Driver

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled HGV Class 1 Tramper to join our team. Various shift patterns available 4 on 4 off, 5 on 2 off set days. This role involves refrigerated or curtain-sided deliveries across various locations, ensuring timely and safe transportation of goods. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining high standards of vehicle operation and customer service while adhering to all relevant regulations.

Responsibilities

• Operate HGV Class 1 vehicles, primarily refrigerated/curtain-sided lorries, for the transportation of goods.
• Ensure the safe loading and unloading of cargo, securing loads appropriately to prevent damage during transit. (some self tip and self loading maybe required)
• Conduct thorough pre-journey vehicle checks to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
• Maintain accurate delivery records and complete necessary paperwork in a timely manner.
• Adhere to all driving regulations, including tachograph rules and working time directives.
• Provide excellent customer service during deliveries, representing the company professionally at all times.
• Report any vehicle defects or issues immediately to management.

Skills

• Proven experience in commercial driving with a valid HGV Class 1 licence.
• Held HGV license for a minimum of 2 years for insurance purposes
• Knowledge of Refrigerated trailers required (not essential as training can be provided).
• Excellent navigation skills and familiarity with UK road networks.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively on a shift basis.
• Strong communication skills for effective interaction with customers and team members.
• A proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to safety standards.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: From £160.00 per day
