HGV / Flatbed Truck Driver — Heysham Depot

ECS Cash & Carry is a UK trade-only wholesale supplier serving restaurants, takeaways and food businesses for over a decade. We're hiring a reliable, safety-first driver to keep our customers stocked across the North West and beyond.

The role

You'll operate one of our flatbed lorries out of our Heysham depot, delivering wholesale food and packaging orders to trade customers. Mornings start with a vehicle check, the run is planned for you, and you'll typically finish where you started — back at the depot. Routes are mostly day-trip, no overnighters.

What you'll do

• Plan and complete deliveries on time, with the right paperwork and the right attitude
• Carry out daily walk-around checks; report anything that doesn't look right
• Load and unload cargo safely — securing loads, using straps and tail-lift where needed
• Help the warehouse team during loading and unloading — we work as a unit, not in silos
• Keep delivery notes, ePOD/manifests and tachograph records accurate and up to date
• Stay in touch with dispatch and customers — a quick phone call beats a missed delivery
• Drive within the law and within our Heysham-area road knowledge
• Keep the cab tidy and the truck presentable — it carries our name

What we're looking for

• Full UK HGV/LGV licence (Class 1 or 2) with current CPC and Digital Tacho card
• Clean-ish licence preferred (max 6 points, no DR/IN endorsements)
• Comfortable with flatbed loading, manual handling and load securing
• Strong sense of customer service — many of our customers see the same driver every week
• Reliable, organised and able to manage a route without micromanagement
• Previous wholesale / cash & carry / food service delivery experience a big plus

Hours: Full-time, Monday–Friday (occasional Saturday during peak periods)
