HGV Class 2 Driver

D & F McCarthy Ltd, a family-owned and operated business for over 145 years, supplying resellers and caterers daily with quality fresh fruit, vegetables, fine foods, drinks, food service, and our own prepared produce, with our fleet of modern, refrigerated vehicles from a sector-leading operating center optimally based just off the A47 in Norwich.

We are looking to recruit a Class 2 Driver for an immediate start to permanently join our transport team.

This role will involve covering a variety of routes across our operation, including both HGV and van routes, offering a great mix of work from day to day. Our fleet’s coverage is predominantly Norfolk and Suffolk, but also extends into Cambridgeshire and Lincolnshire.

Requirements:

· Class 2 licence (Category C)

· Driver Qualification Card (CPC)

· Digital tachograph card

A minimum of 1 year’s Class 2 driving experience is preferred. No more than 6 penalty points. Experience with refrigerated vehicles, tail-lifts, pallet trucks, and tachographs would be advantageous, although full training will be provided.

Key Information:

· Pay rate of £14.30 per hour, reviewed annually

· Immediate start available

· Start times from around 4:00am

· Working days typically from 8 hours upwards

· Due to the seasonal nature of the business, busier times of the year will naturally result in longer working days

· No overnight/on-call working

· Monday–Saturday operation, with a Saturday rota meaning not all Saturdays are worked

· Variety of work covering multiple routes and vehicle types

· Saturday attendance bonus of £25 plus a shorter working day
