HGV Class 2 Driver

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Truck Driver to join our logistics team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting goods safely and efficiently across various routes. This role requires a strong commitment to safety, punctuality, and customer service while ensuring the timely delivery of products. Experience with bulk tipping is advantageous.

Duties

• Operate lorries in a safe and responsible manner, adhering to all traffic laws and regulations.
• Conduct pre-trip inspections to ensure the vehicle is in good working condition before departure.
• Load and unload goods, ensuring proper handling and securing of load.
• Maintain accurate delivery logs and complete necessary paperwork for each journey.
• Communicate effectively with dispatchers and clients regarding delivery schedules and any potential delays.
• Follow company policies regarding safety protocols and vehicle maintenance.
• Assist in route planning to optimise delivery times while considering road conditions and regulations.

Skills

• Proven experience (2 years plus) in commercial driving with a valid HGV licence.
• Strong knowledge of road safety regulations and best practices for transporting goods.
• Ability to operate effectively, including securing loads properly.
• Excellent time management skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines.
• Strong communication skills to interact professionally with clients and team members.
• Good problem-solving abilities to address any issues that may arise during transport.
• A commitment to maintaining high standards of safety and quality in all aspects of work.
