HGV Class 2 Driver (Full Time)

Job Overview
We are seeking a professional and reliable Plant Delivery Driver to join our logistics team. The successful candidate will be responsible for safely transporting Plant machinery across various locations, ensuring timely deliveries/collections and maintaining high standards of safety and customer service. Duties

• Operate flatbed lorries and other commercial vehicles in compliance with road safety regulations and company policies
• Plan routes efficiently to meet delivery schedules
• Load and unload goods, ensuring proper securing of cargo to prevent damage during transit
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to identify any maintenance or safety issues
• Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, and fuel consumption
• Communicate effectively with dispatchers and clients regarding delivery times, any unforeseen delays and any plant damage
• Coaching customers in safe operation of plant machinery
• Adhere to all legal requirements related to commercial driving, including hours of service regulations
• Ensure the vehicle is kept clean and well-maintained throughout the day
• Mandatory morning attendance 8:30am-12pm every other Saturday

Experience

• Proven experience as a delivery / commercial driver, preferably with flatbed and plant machinery (forklift, telehandler, boom lift etc) operations
• Demonstrable driving skills with a clean driving record
• Full Driver CPC, driver card and digi-tacho
• Knowledge of road safety regulations and best practices for commercial driving
• Familiarity with route planning tools and GPS systems is advantageous

This position requires a dedicated individual with a strong focus on safety, punctuality, and customer satisfaction. Candidates should possess relevant driving experience, particularly with flatbed vehicles and commercial driving.
