HGV CLASS 2 MIXER / TIPPER DRIVER

Reporting To: Head of Transport

Based: Needingworth, Cambridgeshire (Start and finish daily from Needingworth yard)

Type: Full-time, Permanent

Brice Aggregates, Needingworth, is a leading independent aggregate producer & supplier in Cambridgeshire. We are looking for a reliable and professional HGV Class 2 Mixer / Tipper Driver to join our growing fleet and support the delivery of aggregates and concrete products safely and efficiently.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

General Driver Responsibilities

• Carry out deliveries and collections in a timely and safe manner while providing excellent customer service.
• Ensure work schedules are received and understood via electronic device and/or Transport Manager.
• Communicate professionally with customers and deal with issues effectively.
• Supervise loading of the vehicle to ensure products are safely secured and transported.
• Ensure deliveries and collections can be carried out safely whilst respecting customer property; if in doubt, consult with the customer and/or Transport Manager, Planner or Batcher.
• Check goods with customers and obtain signatures/prints on delivery tickets. Report and record any discrepancies.
• Carry out daily vehicle inspections prior to driving.
• Maintain the condition and cleanliness of the vehicle, including cab and operational equipment.
• Ensure vehicles are not subjected to unnecessary damage.

Mixer Driver Duties

• Deliver concrete products safely and efficiently to customer sites.
• Operate and maintain the mixer drum in line with operational and safety requirements.
• Ensure the mixer drum is cleaned appropriately after use.
• Work closely with the Batcher and Transport team to ensure timely deliveries.
• Monitor concrete loads during transit to maintain product quality.
• Ensure safe discharge of concrete at customer sites.

Tipper Driver Duties

• Collect muck and materials from sites where required.
• Deliver aggregates and other materials to customer locations.
• Operate tipper vehicles safely and efficiently in quarry, construction and site environments.
• Ensure loads are evenly distributed and safely secured before transport.
• Carry out tipping operations safely and in accordance with site instructions.
• Maintain cleanliness and condition of the tipper body and associated equipment.

Health & Safety

· Drive vehicles safely and in accordance with all legal requirements.

· Operate within tachograph laws and driver hours regulations.

· Comply with fuel directives from the Transport Manager.

· Report all accidents and incidents in line with company procedures.

· Wear appropriate PPE at all times on site.

· Comply with all company Health, Safety and Environmental policies and report any concerns appropriately.

Other Duties

· Assist with general transport and operational duties as required.

· Perform any other reasonable duties as directed by management.

QUALIFICATIONS

· Full UK Driving Licence

· Class 2 HGV Licence and Driver Qualification Card

· Digital Tachograph Card and Driver CPC

· NVQ in Fixed and Mobile Plant Operations (preferred)

· IOSH Managing Safely (preferred)

· Solid vehicle maintenance awareness including basic checks and minor repairs

EXPERIENCE

· Minimum 2 years HGV Class 2 driving experience

· Experience within quarry, aggregates, construction or concrete environments preferred

HOURS

· Day Shift – Approximately 06:30 to 16:30/16:45

· Monday to Friday

· Overtime available where required

PAY

£16.25 per hour
