Job Summary
We are seeking a professional and dependable Truck Driver to join our logistics team. The successful candidate will be responsible for safely transporting goods across various locations, ensuring timely deliveries, and maintaining high standards of vehicle safety and compliance. Duties
- Operate tipper lorries for the transportation of goods across Doncaster & surrounding areas.
- Ensure all deliveries are completed accurately and on schedule, adhering to delivery instructions and schedules.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, reporting any maintenance issues promptly.
- Secure loads properly to prevent movement during transit, following safety regulations.
- Maintain accurate records of journeys, deliveries, and vehicle maintenance logs.
- Follow all road safety laws and company policies to ensure safe driving practices at all times.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and clients regarding delivery schedules or any unforeseen delays.
- Assist with loading and unloading cargo when necessary, ensuring proper handling procedures are followed.
Skills
- Proven experience in commercial driving, particularly with tipper trucks.
- Strong knowledge of road safety regulations and traffic laws within the UK.
- Delivery driver experience preferred, with a focus on timely and efficient service delivery.
- Excellent driving skills with a clean driving record.
- Ability to operate lorries safely over long distances and in various weather conditions.
- Good organisational skills to manage schedules and paperwork accurately.
- Physical fitness to handle loading/unloading tasks when required.
