HGV Driver class 1

Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and reliable class 1 Truck Driver to join our logistics team. The successful candidate will be responsible for safely transporting goods across various routes, ensuring timely deliveries, and maintaining high standards of vehicle safety and compliance. Experience with walking floor trailers is desirable, along with a strong commitment to safety and customer service.

Duties

• Load and unload trailers efficiently, ensuring proper securing of goods for transit
• Conduct routine inspections of the vehicle before and after trips, reporting any maintenance issues promptly
• Plan delivery routes effectively to optimise efficiency and meet delivery deadlines
• Maintain accurate records of deliveries and time sheets etc.
• Communicate effectively with the transport team regarding delivery schedules and any unforeseen delays
• Adhere strictly to all legal requirements related to commercial driving and transportation regulations

what we are looking for

• Valid driving licence suitable for operating heavy goods vehicles (HGV) or lorry licences as required by law
• Strong knowledge of road safety laws and regulations within the UK
• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to plan routes efficiently
• Good physical fitness to handle loading/unloading tasks when necessary
• Ability to work independently and responsibly under pressure
• Prior experience with walking floor trailers is advantageous but not essential; training will be provided for specific vehicle types if needed.

We operate a 10 percent weekly bonus scheme in addition to hourly pay after one month of employment.

Pay: £14.63-£20.81 per hour
