HGV Driver class 1

Overview
We are seeking a professional HGV Driver Class 1 to join our logistics team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of goods across various locations, ensuring timely deliveries and maintaining high standards of safety and customer service. This role offers an excellent opportunity for experienced drivers with a strong focus on commercial driving and delivery operations.

Duties

• Operate flatbed lorries and other HGV vehicles in compliance with all road safety regulations and company policies
• Conduct pre-journey safety checks on the vehicle and ensure it is roadworthy before departure
• Plan routes effectively to optimise delivery schedules and minimise delays
• Load and unload goods, ensuring they are secured properly during transit
• Deliver goods to clients or distribution centres in a professional and courteous manner
• Maintain accurate delivery documentation and logs in accordance with legal requirements
• Adhere to all driving hours regulations and company procedures to ensure safety at all times
• Report any vehicle issues or accidents promptly to management for immediate action

Experience

• Proven experience as a commercial driver, preferably with delivery driver experience in a similar role
• Valid HGV Class 1 licence with up-to-date CPC certification
• Experience in driving flatbed vehicles is highly desirable
• Strong understanding of road safety regulations and best practices for commercial driving
• Ability to operate a variety of vehicle types, including flatbed lorries, with confidence and professionalism
• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to plan routes efficiently and manage time effectively
