Position Title: High School Science Teacher: Biology or Chemistry (W2)
Employment Type: Full-Time
Compensation: Annual Salary: $63,500 – $72,000 + Benefits
Reports To: High School Principal & Vice Principal
The High School Science Teacher will design and deliver engaging, hands-on learning experiences in Biology, Chemistry, and Physical Science . The ideal candidate will inspire curiosity, foster critical thinking, and support students in developing strong problem-solving skills through inquiry-based learning and laboratory exploration.
- Plan and implement NGSS-aligned science lessons in Biology, Chemistry, and related disciplines.
- Design, conduct, and supervise safe and engaging laboratory experiments , ensuring compliance with all safety protocols.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of a diverse student population, including students with IEPs, multilingual learners, and advanced students.
- Use formative and summative assessments to evaluate student learning and inform instructional practices.
- Integrate technology and real-world applications to enhance student understanding and engagement.
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and performance data.
- Collaborate with colleagues, administrators, and parents to support student achievement and contribute to a positive school culture.
- Participate in professional development, PLCs, and school-wide initiatives to continually improve teaching practice.
- Promote and model the school’s mission and values, fostering a respectful, inclusive, and academically rigorous environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Science Education, Biology, Chemistry, or a related field required; Master’s degree preferred.
- Valid New Jersey Teaching Certification in Science (Grades 9–12)
- Minimum of two years of classroom teaching experience preferred.
- Knowledge of laboratory safety protocols and scientific inquiry methods.
- Familiarity with New Jersey Student Learning Standards (NJSLS) and Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS).
- Strong communication, classroom management, and collaboration skills.
- Commitment to continuous learning , reflective teaching, and student-centered instruction.
- Belief that all students can learn and achieve high academic standards.
This is a full-time W2 position offering a competitive annual salary ($63,500 – $72,000) and a comprehensive benefits package.
