High School Teacher

Job Summary

Soar Academy is seeking an energetic and adaptable High School Teacher with a strong background in mathematics—particularly pre-algebra and algebra 1—and a passion for hands-on, project-based learning.

The ideal candidate is a firm yet friendly educator who can confidently guide students across multiple subjects while making math meaningful through real-world applications and creative projects. This role is perfect for a teacher who values structure, student connection, and learning that goes beyond the textbook.

Responsibilities

• Teach math-focused high school courses, including pre-algebra and algebra 1, with additional instruction in other core subjects as assigned.
• Design and implement project-based lessons that connect academic concepts to real-world experiences.
• Maintain a well-structured, engaging classroom that fosters curiosity, respect, and active learning.
• Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning styles and abilities.
• Assess student understanding through both traditional and performance-based methods.
• Communicate consistently with students and families to support academic progress.
• Collaborate with colleagues to design cross-curricular projects and share instructional strategies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree (preferred)
• Teaching Certification (preferred)
• At least 1 year of classroom experience (preferred)
• Strong knowledge of pre-algebra and algebra 1 concepts
• Demonstrated ability to teach multiple subjects effectively
• Excellent classroom management with a firm and encouraging presence
• Passion for hands-on, project-based teaching and student-centered learning
• Willingness to learn new methods and ways to teach.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Contract, Temporary, Internship

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week
