The Morehouse College Higher Education in Prisons (HEP) Program’s mission is to provide a transformative, BHLAC-affirming (Black History, Life, and Culture) education that empowers incarcerated students to lead consequential lives. The vision is to ensure that incarceration is not a barrier to educational equity.
The Morehouse HEP Program seeks two qualified Writing Tutors to supervise the Black Ink Inside Program. This position requires approximately 10 hours per week. Working collaboratively with each other, Morehouse student ambassadors, and other HEP faculty and staff, the Writing Tutors will support incarcerated students on-site at carceral institutions by providing individualized and small-group instruction in academic writing across disciplines. Each tutor will be assigned at least one primary facility and is expected to provide coverage at additional facilities as needed.
