NDDOT Hiring Range: $9,162/ month

This position manages the maintenance, shop and sign shop forces sections. Job duties include:

District Administration

• Prepare and monitor District biennium budget.
• Evaluate employee performance and trainings.
• Supervise and monitor inventory control and data entry.

Manage District Maintenance Functions

• Develop and implement District Snow and Ice Control, Bridge Maintenance, and Facilities Maintenance plans.
• Oversee inspection and maintenance of district signs and guardrail systems.
• Maintain contractual agreements.
• Assist District Engineer.

Public Relations

• Keep the public informed and respond to requests and inquires by citizens.
• Analyze and recommend solutions to complex, special and emergency problems.

Plan and Prepare District Maintenance Operations

• Develop maintenance priorities through periodic highway inspections.
• Establish action plans for roadway emergencies that can be anticipated.

Maintenance Work Requirements

• Prepare environmental documents required for work done by the maintenance forces.
• Prepare estimates for work to bid or be done by state forces.
• Provide Supervision and Inspection for building or road projects within the District.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in any field.
  Preferred: Civil Engineering, Construction, or Construction Management
• Five years of supervisory or management experience that required the knowledge and skills to manage staff involved in diverse work activities or to coordinate various phases of maintenance or construction projects.
• Requires a class D driver's license to travel to public meetings and project locations.

This position will need to have the ability to respond to emergencies, 24 hours a day, and 7 days a week.

Employment of the selected candidate will be contingent on satisfactorily completing the interview process and the required drug test, job function screening, reference check and driving records check.
