HIH - Infrastructure Engineering Senior Analyst

Position Overview

This is a hands-on position and therefore requires an individual with the ability to coordinate and communicate on diverse projects while being a team player and ensuring an automation first mindset across our growing portfolio of services.

Job Overview:

In this role, you will be responsible for developing, supporting and maintaining automation and DevOps workflows within the Database Services organization. Our team works to ensure stability, security and efficiency within our various cloud services. We primarily partner with our organizations DBAs to assist with the creation and ongoing maintenance of our service offerings through various automation technologies including but not limited to Ansible, Terraform, and Python.

Responsibilities:

This role is responsible for working with the Automation and DevOps team to partner with Principals, DBAs and leaders to support the growth of our services.

Other key responsibilities include:

• Independently analyze common gaps in automation across various database technologies, provide suggested tools and technologies to increase standardization that can be developed upon.

• Develop reuseable automation patterns in both Ansible and Terraform which can be used across technology footprints.
• Creation of reuseable Terraform modules for the deployment of various AWS and Azure resources with enterprise standards and best practices applied.
• Review and develop policies, standards, and best practices for continuous improvement.

Qualifications:

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required.

Experience:

• 3-6 years of experience
• Bachelor’s degree required
• Working knowledge of RDBMS platforms: Oracle, SQL Server, UDB, DB2 z/OS, MongoDB, and PostgreSQL
• Cloud experience including AWS EC2, Lambda, VPC, Aurora PostgreSQL, etc.
• Maintain a positive attitude in high pressure situations, with good conflict management, problem solving and customer service skills
• Ability to multi-task, adapt and address issues in a timely fashion in an agile environment
• Ability work independently and communicate clearly across teams
• Experience in Shell Scripting, Python, Ansible, Jenkins, GitHub Actions and Terraform
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Understand the cross-functional interdependencies within and across IT communities.
• Ability to work in a fast paced, quick-moving environment.
• Adjust communication style based on target audience.
• Ability to work off-hours.

Skills:

• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact with all levels of the organization
• Strong interpersonal/relationship management skills
• Familiarity with Shell Scripting, Python, Ansible and Terraform required, PowerShell is a plus
• Familiarity with Amazon Web Services required, Microsoft Azure is a plus
• Familiarity with developing strong working relationships across the organization while driving database security standardization solutions across multiple database platforms
• Maintain a positive attitude in high pressure situations, with good conflict management, problem solving and customer service skills

Must have skills:

• Terraform Development
• DevOps Skills (Jenkins, Git, etc.)
• AWS Cloud Experience (EC2, S3, VPC, FSX, RDS, etc.)
• Ansible Playbook Development Experience
• Python Knowledge

Nice to have:

• Aurora PostgreSQL Experience
• MongoDB Atlas Experience
• Qlik Replciate Experience
• Azure Experience is a plus
