The Merchandiser Supervisor leads and supports a team of merchandisers to ensure that Hiland Dairy products are displayed, stocked, and promoted effectively in retail accounts across the assigned territory. This role ensures merchandising standards, compliance, and strong execution while fostering safety, teamwork, and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities

Recruit, train, mentor, and evaluate merchandisers.

Provide coaching, feedback, and performance reviews to meet or exceed expectations.

Schedule and assign work to ensure territory coverage and efficient use of resources.

Ensure product displays, point-of-sale (POS) materials, and in-store branding meet Hiland Dairy standards.

Monitor and enforce proper product rotation to maintain freshness.

Oversee inventory levels (shelf and backroom), ensure cold storage and refrigeration equipment are functioning, and manage shrink/trade‑breakage.

Plan and manage daily/weekly routes of merchandisers, balancing workload.

Ensure that deliveries (if applicable), restocking, and display builds are completed on schedule.

Coordinate with sales, distribution, and delivery teams to adapt plans based on account needs or challenges.

Build and maintain relationships with retail account managers, store managers, and other stakeholders.

Resolve customer concerns or store issues professionally and promptly.

Negotiate space, placement, and promotional support where applicable.

Maintain accurate records of merchandising activities, territory visits, display compliance, and inventories.

Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, company policies, and applicable Texas laws.

Travel regularly within territory as required.

Lift/move products and display materials (weight [e.g., up to 50 lbs] as needed).
Qualifications & Requirements

High School diploma or GED required. Degree in Business, Retail Management, Marketing, or related field preferred.

Minimum 3 years of experience in merchandising, retail operations, or related field.

At least 1 year of supervisory or team‑lead experience.

Valid driver’s license with clean driving record. Reliable transportation.

Strong communication, organizational, and time management skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Physically able to perform duties: standing, walking, bending, lifting up to 50lbs, pushing/pulling display units, etc.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word), and experience with merchandising or route tracking tools/software preferred.
