The Purchase Manager for Wastewater Treatment Projects is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing procurement activities for wastewater and water treatment projects. This role ensures timely sourcing of equipment, materials, chemicals, and services while maintaining quality standards, cost efficiency, and compliance with technical specifications and project timelines.
Key Responsibilities
Procurement & Vendor Management
Manage end-to-end procurement for wastewater treatment projects, including equipment, piping, chemicals, electricals, and civil-related materials.
Identify, evaluate, and develop reliable suppliers and subcontractors.
Negotiate prices, contracts, delivery schedules, and payment terms.
Maintain approved vendor lists and conduct periodic vendor performance evaluations.
Project Coordination
Coordinate closely with project, engineering, and site teams to understand material specifications and delivery schedules.
Ensure timely availability of materials as per project milestones.
Handle urgent and site-specific procurement requirements.
Cost Control & Budgeting
Ensure procurement activities align with approved project budgets.
Track purchase costs and identify opportunities for cost optimization.
Prepare comparative statements and purchase recommendations.
Technical & Compliance
Ensure purchased materials and equipment meet technical drawings, BOQs, and quality standards.
Comply with industry standards, environmental regulations, and company procurement policies.
Support inspections, testing, and documentation related to purchased items.
Documentation & Reporting
Prepare purchase orders, contracts, and procurement documentation.
Maintain accurate procurement records and inventory data.
Provide regular procurement status reports to management.
Required Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, Environmental, or Civil) or Supply Chain Management.
510 years of procurement experience, preferably in wastewater treatment, water treatment, EPC, or infrastructure projects.
Strong knowledge of wastewater treatment systems, equipment, and materials (STP, ETP, MBR, RO, pumps, blowers, etc.).
