HOD Academic Innovation

Job Purpose:

To lead the planning, execution, and growth of Skill Development and Innovation Programs by integrating emerging trends, fostering collaboration, ensuring operational excellence, and driving institutional and student development in alignment with organizational goals.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Strategic Planning & Program Development

  • Develop and implement comprehensive plans and strategies for Skill Development Programs.
  • Design financial and operational models to ensure sustainability and impact of programs.
  • Manage administrative and regulatory requirements for registration and launch of new programs.
  • Identify and pursue accreditations, affiliations, and industry partnerships to enhance program credibility and value.
  • Build entrepreneurial, internship, and placement opportunities for students enrolled in skill development programs.

2. Innovation & Growth Management

  • Develop and execute the organization’s innovation strategy aligned with overall business objectives.
  • Identify, assess, and integrate emerging trends, technologies, and market opportunities.
  • Oversee the complete innovation lifecycle — from idea generation to implementation and evaluation.
  • Manage a portfolio of innovation and eLearning projects, ensuring timely delivery, defined scope, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Build a sustainable model for the expansion and scalability of eLearning and STEAM-based initiatives.

3. Leadership & Capacity Building

  • Facilitate management, staff, and students in the overall operations of skill development and innovation programs.
  • Train and mentor staff for professional development to uplift the quality of program delivery and operations.
  • Lead and inspire teams to drive creative thinking, problem-solving, and a culture of innovation.
  • Foster cross-functional collaboration and knowledge-sharing across departments.

4. Stakeholder Engagement & Representation

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal teams, external partners, vendors, and industry experts.
  • Represent the organization at events, conferences, and networking platforms to stay informed about emerging innovations and best practices.
  • Collaborate with external stakeholders to co-develop industry-relevant skill development opportunities.

5. Monitoring & Reporting

  • Develop and track metrics, KPIs, and evaluation tools to measure the success and impact of innovation and skill development initiatives.
  • Prepare and present regular progress reports to senior leadership and other key stakeholders.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Master’s degree in Education, Business Administration, Development Studies, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in managing skill development, innovation, or educational programs.
  • Strong analytical, leadership, and financial modeling skills.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and organizational development abilities.
  • Passion for innovation, technology integration, and community impact.
