Description

Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients' physical, mental, and emotional health to identify their healthcare needs. Continuously evaluate the effectiveness of care plans and implement the nursing care process as indicated to ensure optimal patient care.

2. Develop individualized care plans based on patients' assessments in collaboration with the interdisciplinary healthcare team. Establish goals and interventions to address patients' health concerns and promote their well-being.

3. Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders, ensuring adherence to proper dosages, routes, and schedules. Monitor patients for any adverse reactions or medication interactions and educate them and their families on medication management. Reports adverse reaction to physician on duty and direct manager.

4. Assess and manage wounds, including ascetic dressing, wound irrigation, and infection control. Monitor healing progress and educate patients and caregivers on proper wound care techniques.

5. Provide education and support to patients and their families on various health topics, including medication adherence, disease prevention, healthy lifestyle choices, and symptom management. To empower patients to participate in their care and make informed decisions actively.

6. Regularly monitor patients' vital signs, symptoms, and overall health status. Recognize and respond to any changes or deterioration in their condition promptly. Report any concerns to the appropriate healthcare providers.

7. Collaborate and maintain effective communication with the healthcare team at times, including physicians and other professionals, to ensure coordination continuity of care, especially during take-over and handover reports.

8. Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, forms, documenting assessments, care plans, interventions, and outcomes according to the hospital policies al procedures. Adhere to legal and ethical standards for confidentiality and privacy.

9. Acknowledge basic life support. techniques and emergency protocol to hand emergencies and provide immediate care until additional help arrives.

10. Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives within the home car department and contribute to developing and implementing policies, procedures, anc best practices to enhance patient outcomes and safety

13. Ensure that the necessary financial records are maintained for the Finance Department.

14. Acknowledgement of basic computer skills.

15. Acknowledgement of specialized nursing procedures and lab test collection and handling.

16. Follow the direct charge nurse guidance.

17. Reports equipment failures, safety and security issues, and/or reduction of supply inventory to charge nurse or designee.

18. Demonstrates collaborative multi-disciplinary partnerships working towards the achievements of consta improvement in quality patient care.

19. Contributes to the achievement of cost efficiency savings on unit.

Staff should be competent as follows:

1. To be able to assess and manage Chronic and Acute emergencies.

2. To be able to assess and provide care to patient with different wound types and manage according to the types of wound.

3. To provide guidelines in implementing the patient care plan process.

4. To be able to assess and provide basic and advanced wound care.

5. To be able to assist and provides care to the patient with medical devices ( VAC, Sensors, ECG, etc).

6. Provides care to the geriatric adult, pediatric.

7. Provides care for the patient receiving thrombolytic therapy.

8. Provide age related physiological care and psychosocial support during a diagnostic or therapeutic procedure.

9. To know the urgency in performing the procedure and properly assist in systematic manner.

10.Calculates dosages and administers medications for patients.

11. Participate in patient and family education to help patients and families to better understand and participate in their care and make well informed care decisions.

Requirements

Necessary Knowledge and Experience

Two years post-basic experience, six months of which must be in the specialty

Previous experience in Middle Eastern healthcare.

Good command of English Language

Education and Certification Requirements

Appropriate qualification and statutory nursing registration in the country from where recruited. BSN / RN.

Post-basic course qualification in the specialty.

Valid BLS, ACLS certificate.
