Role Summary
The PYP Homeroom Teacher is responsible for nurturing, guiding, and facilitating inquiry-based learning aligned with the IB PYP philosophy. The teacher acts as the primary academic and pastoral caregiver for the class.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, deliver, and assess engaging inquiry-based units aligned with the IB PYP framework
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment
- Integrate transdisciplinary themes across subject areas
- Observe, document, and assess student learning using formative and summative assessments
- Maintain regular communication with parents regarding student progress and wellbeing
- Collaborate with specialists and support staff
- Support student agency, learner profile attributes, and international-mindedness
- Maintain classroom records, portfolios, and reports as per IB and school guidelines
Qualifications & Experience
- Graduate/Postgraduate degree in Education
- IB PYP training/certification preferred
- Minimum 2–5 years of experience (Pre-Primary/Primary)
- Strong communication and classroom management skills
