Horticultural Technician

We are seeking an experienced plants person to join out team! We are hiring a Horticulture Assistant to start with us soon!

Responsibilities:

• Prepares the garden and ensures surroundings are well maintained, that the plants and collections are healthy, and that the garden is safe and attractive for the public
• Performs and supports horticultural practices that encourage overall plant health and soil nutrition, to include sustainable gardening and integrated pest management practices
• Maintains horticultural tools and equipment
• Maintains records of work, garden maintenance, and plant health as required
• Collaborates with the Horticultural team on all tasks required for maintaining the highest standards of landscape management and horticultural operations

Requirements:

• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Must have valid driver's license and clean driving record (1 ticket in last year OK)
• Must be able to work shifts of 7am-3:30pm, M-F
• Must be able to provide good customer service when needed
• Must be able to lift around 40lbs on occasion with frequent bending and stooping
• Must be willing to rake out beds, pull weeds and maintain a visually pleasant and healthy flower bed
• Must have previous experience in caring for outdoor plants and be able to identify different varieties, while taking the initiative to learn about care and working with others to address concerns

The starting pay is dependent on experience and education as related to the job.

Some positions will be year round, and all will include the opportunity for on-call snow removal in the winter with a pay differential for snow work.
