This isn’t a role about medical tasks. It’s about presence. Sitting beside someone. Holding a hand. Reading aloud. Making sure no one walks the final path alone.

Those who step into this role often describe it as one of the most unexpectedly meaningful things they’ve ever done.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Provide companionship and emotional presence during patient visits Offer respite support so family caregivers can rest Assist with light comfort tasks — reading, music, conversation Be a steady, caring presence when it matters most

TIME COMMITMENT

• As few as 2–4 hours per week Flexible scheduling around your availability Philadelphia, PA and surrounding counties

• Full orientation and training before your first visit Ongoing support from our care team A community of volunteers who share your values
