The Hospital Centre Manager is responsible for the overall administrative, operational, and strategic management of a hospital unit, centre, or department. This role ensures high-quality patient care, efficient service delivery, financial sustainability, regulatory compliance, and effective staff leadership.

The Hospital Centre Manager works closely with clinical leaders, executive management, and multidisciplinary teams to optimise performance and drive continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities1. Operational Management

  • Oversee daily operations of the hospital centre, ensuring smooth and efficient service delivery.
  • Develop and implement operational policies, procedures, and workflows.
  • Monitor patient flow, scheduling, and service capacity.
  • Ensure equipment, facilities, and resources are maintained and available.

2. Staff Leadership & Human Resources

  • Manage staffing levels, scheduling, recruitment, and workforce planning.
  • Lead, supervise, and support clinical and administrative teams.
  • Conduct performance appraisals, training, coaching, and development.
  • Promote a positive, safe, and compliant work environment.

3. Financial & Resource Management

  • Prepare and manage budgets, forecasts, and financial reports.
  • Monitor operating expenses, revenue targets, and resource allocation.
  • Implement cost-control measures and identify opportunities for financial improvement.
  • Oversee procurement and vendor management.

4. Quality, Safety & Compliance

  • Ensure adherence to healthcare regulations, accreditation standards, and safety protocols.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and clinical quality metrics.
  • Lead quality improvement initiatives and patient safety programs.
  • Investigate incidents, manage risk, and implement corrective actions.

5. Patient Experience & Service Excellence

  • Ensure high standards of patient care and satisfaction.
  • Address patient feedback, complaints, and service issues.
  • Foster a culture of empathy, responsiveness, and continuous improvement.

6. Strategic & Change Management

  • Support the development and implementation of strategic initiatives.
  • Analyse data to identify trends, challenges, and improvement opportunities.
  • Lead service expansions, process redesigns, and digital transformation projects.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership on long-term planning.

7. Stakeholder & Communication Management

  • Serve as the primary liaison between clinical teams, administration, and external stakeholders.
  • Communicate effectively with staff, patients, families, and partners.
  • Represent the centre at meetings, committees, and community engagements.

Qualifications & ExperienceEssential

  • Bachelor’s degree in healthcare management, nursing, business administration, public health, or a related field.
  • Several years of experience in healthcare administration or hospital operations.
  • Strong leadership, organisational, and communication skills.

Preferred

  • Any Graduation or Master's degree.
  • Experience in a similar centre manager or operational management role.
  • Knowledge of healthcare regulations, accreditation requirements, and quality systems.
