Job Summary
The Pharmacist is responsible for preparing, dispensing, and managing medications while ensuring safe, effective, and legal drug therapy for patients. The role includes patient counseling, collaboration with healthcare professionals, and compliance with regulatory standards to promote optimal health outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Dispense prescription medications accurately and in accordance with legal and professional standards
- Review prescriptions for accuracy, drug interactions, allergies, and contraindications
- Provide patient counseling on medication usage, dosage, side effects, and storage
- Monitor patient drug therapy and recommend modifications when necessary
- Maintain accurate patient records and pharmacy documentation
- Supervise pharmacy technicians and support staff
- Ensure compliance with pharmacy laws, regulations, and safety protocols
- Manage inventory, storage, and proper handling of medications
- Participate in health promotion, disease prevention, and wellness programs
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals
Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Doctor of Pharmacy (BPharm / PharmD) from an accredited institution
- Valid pharmacist license/registration with the appropriate regulatory authority
- Strong knowledge of pharmacology, drug interactions, and therapeutic guidelines
- Excellent communication and patient counseling skills
- Attention to detail and high ethical standards
- Ability to work independently and as part of a healthcare team

- Experience in retail, hospital, or clinical pharmacy settings
- Proficiency in pharmacy management systems and electronic health records
