Core Responsibilities

  • Clinical Consultation: Collaborate with doctors and nurses to select the best medications, dosages, and administration routes (e.g., tablet, injection, or inhaler) for individual patients.
  • Medication Dispensing: Accurately prepare and dispense prescriptions for inpatients and outpatients, ensuring proper labeling and safety checks.
  • Specialised Compounding: Prepare sterile medications, such as intravenous (IV) fluids, eye drops, and chemotherapy treatments, especially when ready-made versions are unavailable.
  • Patient Monitoring: Review patient drug charts and medical histories to identify potential drug interactions, allergies, or adverse reactions.
  • Patient Counseling: Educate patients and their families on how to take medications safely, manage side effects, and adhere to treatment plans.
  • Inventory & Stock Management: Oversee the procurement, secure storage, and quality testing of the hospital's entire medicine supply.
  • Discharge Support: Review discharge summaries to ensure that prescribed medications match the patient's hospital treatment before they leave.
  • Policy & Research: Participate in hospital committees to develop guidelines for drug use (formularies) and conduct or oversee clinical trials.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Technical Skills: Deep knowledge of pharmacology, therapeutics, and sterile compounding techniques.
  • Soft Skills: Exceptional attention to detail (to prevent fatal errors), strong communication for team collaboration, and analytical problem-solving abilities

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹22,000.00 per month
