SCHEDULE:
Full Time, 8 HR Day Shift, 8

POSITION SUMMARY

The Hospital Physician Operations Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of hospital physician services. This role involves collaborating with various interdisciplinary teams to ensure efficient and effective service delivery. The Coordinator is responsible for providing a full range of services as a liaison between the hospital physicians and our patients, other physicians, and SGMC Health’s Patient Financial Services. Additionally, the role includes monitoring and analyzing performance metrics, managing scheduling and billing, and mitigating physician concerns. The coordinator will also stay updated with industry standards and best practices to continuously improve the operations of hospital physician services.

EDUCATION

Associate’s Degree in Business, Informatics, or other financial/health care field or equivalent degree required, Bachelor’s degree preferred.

EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum three (3) years’ experience in a hospital or other medical setting.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Must have good computer skills, knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Interest and willingness to work in health care setting with adult, geriatric, and people with physical disabilities.
  • PC and Windows literacy required; prefer knowledge or experience with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Knowledge of insurance and managed care.
  • Demonstrate the ability to interact with patients/families with consideration to their age, religion, cultural background, developmental level and emotional status.
  • Requires flexibility in work schedule for accountability expectations for operations and process management in a customer focused business.

WORKING CONDITIONS - ADA INFORMATION

Comfortable setting indoors, schedule may include working weekends and holidays. May be subjected to high levels of stress. Ability to sit, stand or walk for moderate periods. Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs, moderate reaching, stooping, pushing, pulling, bending, and twisting.
