Job Title: Hospital Receptionist

Department: Front Office / Administration

Reports To: Front Office Manager / Managing Director / Medical Superintendent

Job Summary:

The Hospital Receptionist is the first point of contact for patients and visitors. The role involves welcoming patients, managing appointments, handling inquiries, and supporting smooth front-desk operations while maintaining patient confidentiality and providing excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Greet and assist patients, visitors, and vendors in a courteous and professional manner
  • Register patients and verify personal, insurance, and billing information
  • Schedule, reschedule, and confirm patient appointments
  • Answer phone calls and respond to inquiries or route them to appropriate departments
  • Maintain and update patient records accurately in hospital systems
  • Manage front desk documentation, files, and daily logs
  • Handle billing queries, collect payments (if applicable), and issue receipts
  • Coordinate with doctors, nurses, and other hospital staff
  • Ensure patient confidentiality and comply with healthcare regulations
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the reception area

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (Associate degree preferred)
  • Prior experience as a receptionist or front-desk executive (healthcare experience preferred)
  • Basic knowledge of hospital operations and medical terminology is an advantage

  • Proficiency in MS Office and hospital management systems

Work Conditions:

  • May involve shift work, including weekends or holidays

Compensation:

  • As per hospital policy and experience

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent, Fresher

Pay: ₹10,000.00 - ₹15,000.00 per month
