Hospitalist Physician (MD/DO) :
Day (Brownwood, TX) and Nocturnal Shifts (Abilene, TX and Brownwood, TX):
Position Summary:
The Hospitalist Physician provides comprehensive inpatient medical care to hospitalized adult patients. This role focuses on the diagnosis, treatment, and coordination of care for acute and chronic medical conditions, working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality patient care throughout hospitalization.
Nocturnal
The Hospitalist (Nocturnist or Shift-Based) provides overnight or shift-based inpatient medical coverage, managing acute clinical issues, admissions, and cross-coverage responsibilities to ensure continuity of care and patient safety during assigned shifts.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:- Provide direct inpatient medical care to hospitalized patients
- Evaluate, diagnose, and manage acute and chronic medical conditions
- Coordinate patient care with consulting specialists, nursing staff, and ancillary services
- Lead and participate in interdisciplinary rounds
- Manage admissions, daily patient care, and discharges
- Develop and implement evidence-based treatment plans
- Communicate effectively with patients and families regarding care plans and clinical status
- Ensure safe transitions of care and appropriate discharge planning
- Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation
- Participate in quality improvement, patient safety, and utilization initiatives
- Supervise and collaborate with advanced practice providers, residents, or medical students as applicable
- Comply with all regulatory, accreditation, and professional standards
Qualifications:- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an accredited medical school
- Completion of an accredited residency in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine
- Board-eligible or board-certified in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine
- Ability to obtain and maintain unrestricted state medical licensure
- DEA registration or eligibility
