Hospitalist Program Director -- Hospitalists -- Memorial-MSOB

Job Summary

Serve as the administrative manager of the CAMC hospitalist program. The incumbent will be responsible for the planning, directing, developing, budgeting and coordination of the hospitalist program at CAMC in order to support primary care of patients.


Responsibilities

  • Build a department of hospitalists that supports impatient services to meet the needs of CAMC. Develop, plan, direct and organize the activities of the practice.

  • Develop departmental goals in line with CAMC corporate goals and the vision CAMC.

  • Develop and propose operating and capital budgets. Develop a quality monitoring program for the hospitalist group. Monitor individual and group performance with quality indicators and productivity indicators.

  • Develop orientation guidelines for new physicians and work with group to develop clinical evidence based on protocols for patient care.

  • Promote and manage revenue enhancement as well as expense control for the practice.

  • Establish policies and procedures for the department.

  • Monitor patient and physician satisfaction and if necessary develop plans for improvement.

  • Select, interview, hire, evaluate, counsel, discipline and discharge employees.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Patient Group Knowledge (Only applies to positions with direct patient contact)

The employee must possess/obtain (by the end of the orientation period) and demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide developmentally appropriate assessment, treatment or care as defined by the department’s identified patient ages. Specifically the employee must be able to demonstrate competency in: 1) ability to obtain and interpret information in terms of patient needs; 2) knowledge of growth and development; and 3) understanding of the range of treatment needed by the patients.

Competency Statement

Must demonstrate competency through an initial orientation and ongoing competency validation to independently perform tasks and additional duties as specified in the job description and the unit/department specific competency checklist.

8. Follow organizational and departmental policies and procedures, as applicable.
9. Perform related duties as assigned.

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree (Required) Experience: 3 Years In Healthcare setting, preferably with clinical experience
