Hospitality Night Auditor

Job Summary

The Night Auditor is responsible for closing the daily financial activities of the restaurant, reconciling all transactions, preparing reports, and ensuring that all revenue is accurately accounted for. This role combines accounting duties with support functions to ensure the smooth operation of overnight restaurant processes.

Key Responsibilities

· Daily Revenue Reconciliation

· Balance and audit all revenue streams, including sales, petty cash, credit card payments,

and discounts.

· Verify and report voided transactions, discounts, and complimentary items.

· Reporting

· Prepare and distribute daily financial reports for management.

· Document and escalate any discrepancies or irregularities in financial records.

· System Audits and Updates

· Perform nightly backups and data checks in the POS and accounting systems.

· Ensure that all systems are reset and ready for the next business day.

· Cash Handling

· Count and verify cash drawers and safe.

· Prepare deposit slips and ensure the secure handover of funds.

· Investigate and resolve any cash discrepancies.

· Administrative Duties

· Respond to late-night inquiries related to financial transactions.

· Assist with basic stock checks or reporting tasks if needed.

· Maintain organization and cleanliness of reporting and office areas.

Qualifications

· High school diploma or equivalent; accounting or hospitality education preferred.

· Minimum 1 year of experience in auditing, cashiering, or accounting roles (preferably in a restaurant or hotel).

· Proficiency with POS systems and MS Excel.

· Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy.

· Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.

· Discreet and trustworthy with handling financial data.
