Job Summary
We are seeking an energetic and personable Host to create a warm, welcoming environment for our guests. As the first point of contact, you will be responsible for greeting visitors, managing waitlists, and ensuring smooth seating arrangements. Your positive attitude and excellent communication skills will set the tone for an exceptional dining experience. This role is vital in fostering guest satisfaction and supporting the overall flow of the restaurant or hospitality venue.

Duties

• Greet guests promptly with enthusiasm and a friendly demeanor, making them feel valued from the moment they arrive
• Manage reservations, waitlists, and seating charts efficiently using POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS
• Communicate clearly with guests regarding wait times and table availability, providing accurate information at all times
• Coordinate with servers and kitchen staff to ensure timely seating and smooth service flow
• Maintain a clean, organized host stand and lobby area to enhance guest impressions
• Handle guest inquiries politely over the phone and in person, demonstrating excellent phone etiquette and guest relations skills
• Assist with special event seating arrangements or VIP guest accommodations as needed

Skills

• Proven experience as a Host or Hostess in food service or restaurant environments
• Strong customer service skills with a welcoming attitude and ability to handle diverse guest needs
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with guests and team members
• Familiarity with POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS; hotel experience is a plus
• Knowledge of food service operations, restaurant procedures, and guest relations best practices
• Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in managing reservations and seating logistics
