Responsibilities

• Greet guests promptly and warmly as they arrive, providing a positive first impression
• Manage reservations and seating arrangements efficiently to optimize flow and reduce wait times
• Answer phone inquiries with professionalism, providing accurate information about wait times or reservations
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the host stand and waiting area to ensure a tidy environment
• Coordinate with servers, kitchen staff, and management to ensure smooth guest flow and timely seating
• Assist guests with special requests or accommodations to enhance their experience
• Handle guest concerns or complaints courteously, escalating issues when necessary to ensure satisfaction

Skills

• Previous host or hostess experience in a fast-paced food service or restaurant environment
• Strong customer service skills with a friendly, approachable demeanor
• Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with guests and team members
• Familiarity with POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS for managing reservations or guest information
• Knowledge of restaurant operations, including seating protocols and reservation management
• Experience in hospitality or hotel guest services is a plus
• Ability to handle phone etiquette professionally and manage multiple tasks efficiently
• Demonstrated ability to build positive guest relations and provide exceptional guest services
