Job Summary

Saint Florian, a modern American Restaurant located in Hudson, NY seeks a friendly and motivated Host to join our team!

In this role, you will be the first point of contact for our guests, ensuring a warm welcome and a smooth dining experience. Your primary responsibilities will include greeting guests, managing reservations, and maintaining an inviting atmosphere in our restaurant. A passion for hospitality and excellent customer service skills are essential to succeed in this position.

This role will begin with shifts on Friday and Saturday evenings, from 4:00 PM until 10:00 PM, and will receive an hourly rate as well as percentage of pooled tips.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests upon arrival with a warm and friendly demeanor.
• Manage the seating chart and ensure timely seating of guests based on their reservations.
• Communicate effectively with the kitchen and wait staff to ensure seamless service.
• Assist in managing guest flow during peak hours to minimize wait times.
• Provide information about menu items, specials, and restaurant policies to guests.
• Handle guest inquiries and resolve any concerns promptly to enhance guest satisfaction.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the host/host area.
• Manage Reservations and Waitlists to maximize seating potential.
• Collaborate with team members to create a welcoming environment for all patrons.

Skills

• Strong hospitality skills with a focus on customer service excellence.
• Excellent communication abilities to interact effectively with guests and staff.
• Experience in guest relations within restaurant settings is preferred.
• Familiarity with food service operations and Toast POS system is a plus.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
• A positive attitude and willingness to help others contribute to an enjoyable dining experience.
