Key Responsibilities

  • Greet and welcome guests warmly to set a positive first impression and create a welcoming atmosphere.
  • Manage reservations and waitlists, including booking, confirming, and adjusting reservations, and providing accurate wait time estimates.
  • Escort guests to tables or waiting areas, ensuring seating preferences and accessibility needs are met.
  • Assign tables to servers fairly to balance workloads and optimize service efficiency.
  • Answer phone calls and guest inquiries regarding menu items, hours, and special requests.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the host stand, entryway, and waiting areas.
  • Support the team by assisting with light cleaning, bussing, or refilling water during busy periods.
  • Handle guest complaints professionally, ensuring issues are resolved calmly and courteously.
  • Provide menu information and assist new staff or servers as needed, particularly in high-end or busy restaurants.

Required Skills and Qualifications
